RED FLAG????

OK, just need to know something, because I guess I'm still learning. Can a car leave the track when a Red Flag has been thrown ??? And do some repairs and return to the track??? I understand ALL cars are to stop. Is this a correct interpretation of a red flag?? ALL cars or just a choice few?? Like during the "B" main in the Minis. Anybody else see what I saw?? Just trying to figure out what everybody is supposed to do on a RED.

You are to stop-- if you are right by the accident, the officials may ask you to to move away in a safe manor-- If you are no where near the accident and can get off the track without going near the incident, you can exit the track to work on your car, you will go to the back like going off the track any other time.

They instituted that rule to help keep cars from totally melting down.
